Rams fall to 60-1 in Super Bowl futures

Super Bowl 55 odds

So much for the Los Angeles Rams being serious contenders to return to the Super Bowl.
Oddsmakers at Bovada.lv and other online shops have posted the Rams at 60-1, down from 40-1 just a few weeks ago. That’s great news for Rams fans who still have faith in their team, but bad news for their real prospects of returning to the Super Bowl.
And fans of the Washington Football Team (whatever they will be named) can take comfort in knowing they do not have the worst odds – Jacksonville slipped to 200-1 in the latest futures poll, while Washington and Cincinnati are 150-1 longshots.
Back to the top of the board, Kansas City and Baltimore remain the picks of oddsmakers to be the AFC reps at Super Bowl 55. The Chiefs are 6-1 with the Ravens +650. On the NFC side, the defending conference champion San Francisco 49ers are 9-1 with the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers next at 10-1.
This would have been the week the NFL preseason kicked off with Hall of Fame Game action, but Covid-19 made sure that would not happen. The league has opened its schedule, the Week 1 odds are posted and the exhibition schedule has been scrapped.
As other leagues re-start, it will be interesting to see how teams get out of the gate and if injuries become a bigger or smaller factor early in the 2020 season.
