As Super Bowl XLVII approaches, it is hard to believe there are many bettors still on the sidelines. However for those players who believe in last minute shopping trends, you have come to the right place. Whether it is the spread, moneyline, total or props, we have you covered like Ed Reed on Michael Crabtree.
This Sunday at 6:30 PM at the Mercedes Benz Superdome, the favored 49ers meet the Ravens. For the latest odds, check out Bovada but hurry, the word on the street is that San Francisco’s number could see some serious inflation by game time.
Life is Good
Since the Harbaugh brothers played each other for the first and only time in 2011, they have been among the top teams in the NFL. The Ravens and 49ers both advanced to their respective Conference Championship games before falling short of last year’s Super Bowl. Since their Thanksgiving game of one year ago, Baltimore has gone 18-8 SU while San Francisco is 18-6-1. The 49ers are 7-1 SU and ATS against the AFC with the only loss coming to the Ravens.
Behind Center
To no one’s surprise, both quarterbacks have excelled in the playoffs, especially Joe Flacco. Baltimore’s signal caller has thrown eight touchdown passes, no interceptions and has a passer rating of 114.7. Flacco is 62-30 SU and 50-38-4 ATS in his NFL career while going 44-45-3 to the under. In games against the NFC, Flacco is 13-7 SU, 12-8 ATS and 12-6-2 to the over. During the postseason, Super Joe is 8-4 SU and ATS and 4-8 under.
Since taking over as San Francisco’s starter in mid-November, Kaepernick has gone 7-2 SU and 5-3-1 ATS and 8-1 over.
Playoff Powers
Behind Baltimore’s top guns of Flacco and Ray Rice, the franchise is 13-7 all time in postseason play. The Ravens are 1-0 SU and ATS in their only Super Bowl appearance. That came in 2001 at the expense of the New York Giants.
Granted they have not played for the NFL title since 1994, but San Francisco has yet to lose a Super Bowl, going 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS all-time.
The NFC has controlled the last 31 Super Bowls, going 21-10 SU and 20-9-3 ATS, including 4-0 SU and ATS the last four years.
Lowdown on Props
If you are one of thousands of people making the trip to Las Vegas for Super Bowl XLVII, do not be disappointed when you fail to see most of the crazy Prop bets you were hoping to play.
In Las Vegas, the Nevada Gaming Commission forces oddsmakers to relate every exotic prop bet back to a measurable performance on the field. So primarily for that reason, the Props in Vegas will be more like, “will Kobe Bryant have more points than Colin Kaepernick completions?” Sorry but no bets on the color of Gatorade or will Beyoncé’s hair be straight or crimped.
Those will only be available at your favorite online sportsbook.
