The final whistle sounds, the players are celebrating a Super Bowl win, but what are you doing?
Naturally, you are watching the sideline to see what color of Gatorade shower the winning coach is about to enjoy. Why? Of course you had action on the Gatorade Shower betting odds menu and are really hoping it was orange.
Super Bowl 54 Gatorade prop is now called the ‘liquid’ prop, probably because Gatorade has too much sugar and that’s bad. Regardless, clear liquid or water is the top choice this year at +165 odds, with lime/yellow/orange the second choice at +350. Apparently its hard to tell and we don’t want any fighting over color palettes after the game is done.
Those odds are as Jan. 20 over at Bovada.
Lime/Green/Yellow +300
Orange +350
Red +550
Clear/Water +165
Blue +350
Purple +1200
For argument’s sake, Bill Belichick got a blue liquid shower after Super Bowl 53. Two years earlier, the Patriots were apparently scared to do it to cranky Coach Bill, so there was no Gatorade shower at all. Boring old Patriots….
When did the Gatorade shower prop begin?
It actually began during the 1986 season and continued through the playoffs as the New York Giants won Super Bowl XXI. Bill Parcells is believed to be the first NFL coach to get the bath. Since we are down with any bet on the Super Bowl, we figured we better do our research. So we watched every game, studied the game film in slow motion of every Gatorade shower.
Not all winning coaches got doused. But the ones that did, we have the data. Now you can check out the chart below and not do the same work yourself when you are handicapping the next Super Bowl Gatorade shower prop!
